Byron Bay's events run the gamut from the musical to the cultural to the athletic, so whatever your preferences you're likely to find activities and events that interest you.
Byron Bay is home to two popular annual cultural events: the Byron Bay International Film Festival, and the Byron Bay Writers' Festival, both of which attract notables from far and wide. Music-themed events in Byron Bay include the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Splendour in the Grass, and the Byron Latin Fiesta. If you're athletically inclined, you'll enjoy watching, and perhaps participating in, events such as the Ben King Memorial Surf Classic, the Ocean Swim Classic, the Byron Bay Triathlon, and the Byron Lighthouse Run.
Other fun events worth seeing include the East Coast Sculpture Show, the Underwater Festival, the Big Joke Comedy Festival, and the Bangalow Show.
